The practice rounds at Augusta National are underway! Yes, that time of year has arrived. The Masters Tournament at Augusta National in Georgia. Now, you would expect that for an event like The Masters that food and drinks would be GROSSLY overpriced, but the truth is actually contrary to that! In fact, the prices are INCREDIBLE!
Now that I am back from my vacation I can share with you, in a series of posts, the many things I learned and experienced on my 2nd trip ever to Costa Rica
First up: Beer
Here are the major Costa Rican beers:
Left to Right: Imperial Light, Imperial Silver, Imperial, Rock Ice, Rock Limon, Rock Golden Monkey, Bavaria, Bavaria Dark, Bavaria Silver
Not Pictured: Pilsen
Went to The Grumpy Troll in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin this weekend to finally try all the great beer that I have been told was brewed there. It was worth the trip.
I recommend the Trailside Wheat. I started my afternoon at The Grumpy Troll with this particular beer.
They had so many beers available. They are all brewed on-site. Quite an operation for a brewpub in a tiny Madison suburb.
We ended up deciding to share a sampler. Yep. We didn’t start off with the sampler… We ended with the sampler. Perhaps it wasn’t the smartest idea. It is a lot of beer.
Visit The Grumpy Troll online… and then IN PERSON
Went to the Fisher King Winery in Mt Horeb and did a wine tasting this weekend. It is located in the “historic” downtown area of Mt Horeb. They don’t grow the grapes there, but they ferment and bottle the wine on-site. $5 gets you five 1 ounce samples of whichever wine you wish to try. Not bad.
Sample #4 and #5 (I REALLY LIKED IT):
Took home a bottle of the Chalice Riesling… Hey, I said I REALLY LIKED IT
It is located in a nice, old, building in the downtown of Mt Horeb.
If you live in the Madison, Wisconsin area or anywhere in a driveable distance, you should head to Mt Horeb (DANE COUNTY’S BEST SUBURB according to the sign when you enter town) and check it out!
