We were greeted by iguana friends upon our arrival in Tamarindo last week.
The one here in the tree at the hotel is referred to as “Godzilla” by the employees at the Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas. He must be a regular. 🙂
We headed out last Sunday on a tour to the Rio Tempisque for a boat ride and saw these guys in the parking lot of the hotel before we departed.
This big iguana was in a tree along the banks of the Rio Tempisque.
This little guy (little?) was climbing through a fence along the main road in Tamarindo near the Witches Rock Surf Camp.
This lizard in this pic stopped by to sun himself by the patio of our hotel suite and wish us farewell before we departed from our room to head back to the US.
So many lizards were also seen that are not pictured here, of course…
One of my favorite things to do while going from place to place in a foreign country is to look out for all the different vehicles and take notice of the ones that we don’t see here in the USA. There are many in Costa Rica. Some of them are here in the US but are a different body style, some are not sold here at all, and some brands are here but the particular model is not sold here. Below are some that I took photos of around Tamarindo this past week:
Our second day in Tamarindo, last Friday, we were walking down the road and saw some activity on the power lines. It was a group of Howler Monkeys taking turns crossing on the lines. Some had babies on their backs. It was the closest I have ever been to a monkey, outside of a zoo.
The best view in Tamarindo… For the price… Is at the Tamarindo Vista Villas.
Below you will find every picture I took from the pool area. Some taken in the morning. Some taken midday. Some taken in the evening. It was the most epic view in town. Enjoy!
It was amazing seeing this every day.
… and every night
Wow… I took a LOT of pics of that view, eh!?
